Visit of Naples

Naples is a beautiful and unique city. Alongside the city's monumental beauties, there are many small features to be discovered. In the narrow streets there are beautiful churches, where you can observe the stratification of the different architectural styles that followed one another in different historical periods.

In Naples you can visit two different areas. The first is Chiaia, near the port, a monumental area where you can admire Castel Nuovo, Castel dell'Ovo, the Royal Palace, Piazza Plebiscito, the Galleria Umberto I and all the main shopping streets. Another interesting area is the historic centre, which still conserves its ancient Greek design. Naples’ most characteristic splendours can be found here as you absorb this city's unique atmosphere. This area's main attractions are: The church of Santa Chiara with its remarkable Cloister, the church of San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Gregorio Armeno (the street of nativity scenes at Christmas time), Naples' underground tunnels and the National Archaeological Museum. Other attractions in different areas include: Capodimonte Ceramics Museum, Castel Sant 'Elmo and the Certosa (monastery) of San Martino, the Posillipo area with the beautiful and scenic Virgiliano Park, the aquarium of the "Villa Comunale"...

You can reach Naples from Vico Equense in 50 minutes by car or train (the station is a 10 minute walk from the Hotel) or 40 minutes by hydrofoil. The guided group tours can be booked in the hotel.

The Concierge’s advice: The city tour takes a full day or even two. The best solution is a private guide who will show you the most beautiful monuments of the city avoiding dangerous areas and personalising the visit to suit your personal interests. The guide will also help when using public transport which is not always very easy.
